My name is Thalia Samira Ugarte. I am a bilingual Medical Assistant with hands-on experience in dermatology, phlebotomy, patient care, medical records management, insurance authorizations, and clinical procedures performed alongside physicians.
But Ugarte Health Solutions was not born from a business plan. It was born from experience.
For more than two years, I worked closely with patients in a busy dermatology practice in South Florida. Every day, I met people who were doing their best to care for their health while balancing work, family responsibilities, transportation challenges, language barriers, and physical limitations.
Working in healthcare taught me something that no certification puts into words: the biggest barrier between a patient and better health is not always medical. Sometimes it is distance. Sometimes it is time. Sometimes it is fear. And sometimes it is simply not having someone who understands.
Becoming a mother deepened that understanding in ways I never expected. As someone who has also built a new life from the ground up in this country — learning, adapting, and working hard at every step — I understand what it means to navigate systems that were not designed with you in mind.
That understanding became the foundation of Ugarte Health Solutions, and the reason I chose to begin building it here in Houston — a city where hardworking families, older adults, and busy professionals deserve healthcare that adapts to their lives, not the other way around.
